Plans and credits
Everything the board does on your own device is free: the engine, puzzles, endgames, your repertoire, your games, exercises, homework, sessions with the board. What the server does for you — a voice in a session, the words a model writes, a film, a book read, a recording transcribed — is paid for in credits, from one balance.
One balance
Your account has one balance of credits. The plan gives you a number of credits each month; a pack adds credits you bought. The month's credits are spent first and start again on the first of the month; bought credits never expire. A free account has ten credits a month, a subscriber one hundred and fifty. You see the balance under Settings → Usage this month: what is left of the month's, what you bought, and — only when it happened — what a session's voice carried over.
What costs what
The same screen lists the prices, and every paid action tells you its price before it starts; when the credits are short it says so and stops, nothing is spent. At the time of writing:
- A position study, or one AI comment: 2 credits.
- A tutorial written from a game: 5. The words of a review: 3. A tutorial translated: 3.
- A film with narration: 5.
- Reading a book: 1 per ten pages. Transcribing a recording: 1 per ten minutes of sound.
- Voice in a session: 2 per person-hour, counted by the second — an hour with a trainer and five students is six person-hours — and booked to whoever started the session. A session already in voice is never cut off when the credits run out; the shortfall comes off next month's credits.
Sending homework costs nothing. Kept recordings are not credits but a cap on their total length — thirty minutes on a free account, ten hours on the plan; when it is full, recording is refused until you delete one, and nothing is ever deleted for you.
Buying credits
On Android the plan and the three packs are bought through Google Play, from the same screen; on Windows through the Microsoft Store. The store takes the payment and your credits arrive on the account within moments, on every device you sign in on. A subscriber's pack gives more credits than a free account's. A refund through the store takes the credits back.
A free account's film
A film exported from a free account ends on a short card naming the app. A subscriber's film has no card.
Deleting your account
Deleting the account deletes its credits with it, bought ones included. A subscription bought through a store is not cancelled by deleting the account: cancel it in Google Play or in the Microsoft Store, where it was bought.
